the poor devils in Europe, North America, Asia, and Peru are being tormented by global warming - poor devils have had to resort to wearing coats, paying higher energy bills and fighting for survival.

You think one cold winter changes a century + trend? Or a decade of decline or leveling for that matter. Look at the long term global temperature trend since the late 1800s and you will see several interspersed decades of declining temps throughout, but the overall trend continues up. Nothing goes in a straight line! Geez.... are you familiar with the stock market?

What is simplistic is accurately measuring temperatures and climate (relatively speaking) for about a 100 years and extrapolating that to think you know what has happened over the last 2 centuries or so.

They don't have a clue and finagle the data to get an acceptable response. Sort of like in homosexual-research, have a conclusion (like homosexuality is genetic) and conduct a study to fit the conclusion without any proof or evidence.

Read those emails in climate-gate... those are what makes this whole thing VERY simple.

Don't bother trying to change anyone's mind or opinion about the topic of global warming. Most have their minds made up about what they think to be true and unless you are a brilliant scientist with specialties in trends, statistics, and scientific/climate mathematics-you can't really know what the answer is-because there are way too many variables.
On the other hand, it doesn't take a rocket scientist to realize that we contribute to the deterioration of our ozone everyday by the lifestyle we lead and the products we use. The ozone is there to protect us. We could all be kinder to our environment and that should be a starting point.
