I took this Saturday at the Cattleman's steakhouse just outside of Fabens. One of my favorite all time pics.

Here's a view from the scenic drive up transmountain looking down on El Paso and Juarez. I am going to get a tripod so I can get better pics at night.

Wasnt the steak there FAB-U-LUS!!

I went with the Coronado Band there, when they went to regional competition. We ate there after the final competition, and DANG, IT WAS THE BEST STEAK I have ever had.

They do have the best steak...and coleslaw. This is my son's favorite restaurant, so I've eaten there several times when he was stationed at Fort Bliss.

Been to Anthony GALC once. And promised myself I would stop and take a pic at nite from transmountain pass; never did, but just whizzed on over. Try a tripod and the widest angle lens you have. Lens hood if there is any problem with passing headlights. Fisheye would be neat but they are so expensive.

Even if your digital camera has manual settings, it is easier to take long exposures with an old film camera, like my FTbs. You can use your hand to time long exposures. Hold hand over lens, fire shutter on "B" and lock the shutter open with the ring lock, remove hand to time exposure, replace hand. Or you can use the lenscap instead of your hand. Or go ahead and use a cable release and lock. Just dont jar the camera while the exposure is being made.

Photography mag 30 years ago showed how you could drill a hole through a lenscap and attach one of those door viewer thingies that cost about $5 to make a cheap fisheye. Never tried it.

I just don't get it. I tried to post some photos and they wouldn't take because they are over 300 pixels wide. But I've seen other photos posted on this topic that must be over that size. 300 pixels is a very small photo.
